A 48-year-old man was left seriously injured this afternoon after the generator he was working on exploded on a farm outside of Fochville.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying inside a container next to a large generator.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained numerous injuries, leaving him in a critical condition.
Paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support interventions, in order to stabilise his vital signs.
Once treated, the patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby private hospital for urgent treatment.
It is understood that the man had been working on the generator when a minor explosion occurred.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
