Lucky escape after accident

VEREENIGING. – ER24 reported that a man escaped injury on 31 August after his light motor vehicle left the R42 Barrage Road near Vereeniging, and crashed into a water canal.

ER24 paramedics, along with fire services, arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle lying in a water canal next to the road. The driver, a man, was found seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the man and were relieved to find that he had escaped injury. The man later declined transportation to hospital. The driver later told paramedics that he had lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the road and crash into the canal. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations. Russel Meiring-ER24 Spokesperson.
