Most people find clowns creepy already but once you find out the truth about this serial killer John Wayne Gacy, you may never want a clown at your kid’s birthday party ever again. John became known as the “Killer Clown” in the 70’s since he used to dress up as a clown for charity events and children’s parties.

He became infamous for dragging or luring teenage boys to his Norwood Park Township home in Cook County, Illinois and murdering them by asphyxiation or strangulation with a tourniquet. He committed the majority of his murders this way except for the first who was killed by being stabbed to death. Some of his victims he would sexually assault and rape if given the opportunity.

This deranged man was able to kill 33 young men over the span of 6 years, from 1972-1978. Gacy buried a total of 26 bodies in a crawl space in his home. Four victims were found in the Des Plaines River and three others were found buried elsewhere on his property. After being convicted of 33 murders he spent 14 years on death row and was eventually executed on May 10, 1994.
