15 primary school children in accident, Sasolburg

At least 15 children were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in overturned at the Harry Gwala Bridge in Zamdela, Sasolburg, earlier this afternoon.

It is understood that the primary school children were on their way home from school when the incident occurred.

When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene they found that the vehicle had veered off the road and gone down an embankment. The vehicle was lying on its side near a tree. Upon assessment of the children and the driver of the vehicle, it was found that they sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

They were treated and transported to the hospital for further medical care. The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
