The pictures and the story of the young gay (P1) who was killed in Vereeniging over the weekend are gruesome. It is not for us to judge one another, because each and everyone has a right to live their lives the way they want to.
The young man who was killed over the weekend had a right to live, no matter his sexual orientation. It is said that he was a prostitute and that when the young suspect who was a potential customer discovered that he was gay, he became infuriated and killed him. Gay, lesbian, prostitute, crazy or not this was uncalled for! What he should have done is to pull up his trousers and get the hell out of there – after all this was not what he came for.
My belief is that like everyone else Gay people have rights; they too deserve to be protected from the vicious ‘hyenas’ out there who are a menace to society. It is well-accepted that society determines the way we live, but this should stop!
I mean, my life is mine and mine only. What I do with it is none of your business. There is no difference between a gay and a straight person, none whatsoever. Let us say the roles were reversed. Would it go down well with those that discriminate against gay people if they were to be discriminated against? I don’t think so.
Homosexuality is considered a sin according to certain religions, but if that was true, why would gay people be on earth? I think that some straight people are jealous of gay people’s lifestyle, plain and simple and excuse me for comparing the two, but we are all the same and nothing can change that, nothing!
Gay people are human and have rights and people who negate this should get it into their thick skulls. The young gay that was killed over the weekend died for sweet nothing and may his young gay soul rest in peace.Lerato…
