ER24 paramedics, along with Fire services, arrived on the scene and found the bakkie lying in the veld some distance away from the road. The bakkie was already well alight by the time emergency services arrived on the scene.
Fire services immediately began to extinguish the blaze. Once extinguished, paramedics found the burned remains of the driver lying in the driver’s seat.
Unfortunately, the driver was burned beyond recognition and had succumbed to his fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patient and they were declared dead on the scene.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
