- Bird books
Christine Harries facilitates a birding and environment group at North Primary School where she teaches. The interest and enthusiasm of the group has grown from 6 children (in 2005) to 30 children (2016). In 2005, Sasol, at her request, generously donated 6 bird identification books and 3 pairs of binoculars. The collection of bird books had increased to 9 due to the group being awarded prizes at the Sasol Birding Competitions. She asked for donations of bird books that are perhaps not ‘consulted’ any more.
John Bradshaw presented Christine with bird books that he had received from Birdlife SA for her group. If some of you have a spare bird book that you can donate, I am sure it will also be appreciated.
Hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather and that we will all soon be able to report seeing some of the migrant birds returning.
Friendly regards,
Rina de Klerk
