40 year old killed in hit and run

VANDERBIJLPARK. – ER24 reported that a 40-year-old woman was killed in a hit and run collision earlier yesterday afternoon 10 November.

Shortly before 4pm paramedics from ER24 arrived on the R57 in Flora Gardens in Vanderbijlpark where they found the woman with fatal injuries. It is understood that she was pulling a trolley with recyclable material when a vehicle struck her. Sadly, there was nothing that paramedics could do for her and she was declared dead on the scene. Her friend was found on the scene in shock about what had happened. She explained to paramedics that the vehicle almost collided with her. She was assessed by the paramedics on scene and found with no physical injuries. The incident was later handed over to the local police on scene for further investigation. The driver and the vehicle that collided with the woman was not found on the scene. (Werner Vermaak ER24 Spokesperson)
