MEYERTON. – parkrun, an international drive to encourage young and old to get more active, was introduced to residents of Meyerton on Saturday, November 18.

Here are answers to questions most often asked:

What is Meyerton parkrun?

It is a 5km run – it’s you against the clock.

When is it?

Every Saturday at 8:00am.

Where is it?

The event takes place at Midvaal Sports and Conference Centre, Begonia Street, Meyerton (GPS 26°34’37.6”S 28°01’26.4”E).

What does it cost to join in?

Nothing – it’s free! But register before your first run. You only register with parkrun once to become a participant. Don’t forget to bring a printed copy of your barcode when you join for the first time. If you forget it, you won’t get a time.

How fast do you have to be?

Everyone runs for his or her own enjoyment. Just come along and join in, whatever your pace!

Who is organising the event?

It is entirely organised by volunteers – email meyertonhelpers@parkrun.com to help.

“Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in the Impi Restaurant, situated at the Midvaal Sports and Conference Centre. Meyerton parkrun needs you! Please come and join us,” is the organisers’ open invite.
