ER24 paramedics were called to the scene, arriving at 17:54, after a passerby had spotted the body.
On arrival, paramedics found the body of a woman lying in amongst some reeds along the bank.
On further inspection, paramedics found that the woman had sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest. Unfortunately, the woman had been dead for some time. Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
