VANDERBIJLPARK. – Elvis Moyo “The Bulawayo Bomber” will have to have his wits about him when he climbs through the ropes on 10 February in Pretoria against Ruann “The Giant King” Visser of Meyerton.
Visser is the reigning South African Heavyweight boxing champion and this behemoth of a boxer will be out to improve on his previous outing at the Sun Arena, Time Square Casino.
Visser defeated Luke Sutherland last year, but was not satisfied with his performance. The 35-year-old Moyo will have his work cut out to stop Visser’s onslaught over the scheduled 10 rounds.
Tipping the scale at 120kg and standing 186cm in his socks the Zimbabwean national is not what you would call small, but compared to the SA champ (2.07m and 118kg) he will be dwarfed.
The 28-year-old Visser who has the longest reach (220.98cm) in world boxing also has a superior fighting record of 14-1-0. Moyo a former EFC MMA heavyweight (8-5-2) has battled a bit to make the transition from MMA to boxing but his punching power should not be underestimated.
The Battle of the Warriors 3 kicks off at 12pm. Tickets start at R100 per person and are available through Computicket. Table bookings are available @R5000 per 10 seat table. To book a table or for further information, please contact Juanita on 064 641 2445.
