From Friday 22 March until Monday 25 March Sedibeng Flying Squad members arrested eight (08) suspects and recovered four (04) hijacked and two (02) stolen vehicles.
Members were busy with crime prevention operation in Sedibeng and arrested two (02) suspects in Sebokeng for contempt of court and rape, One (01) suspect in Evaton for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and One (01) suspect was arrested in Vanderbijlpark for driving under the influence of liquor.
The following four (04) hijacked vehicles were recovered abandoned in Orange Farms. Hyundai Accent, Toyota Hi Lux, Mercedes Sprinter and a VW Golf. The other two (02) stolen vehicles were recovered with suspects. A white Toyota corolla was found with one (01) suspect while they were patrolling on Golden Highway close to Welgevonden road. The second one was a Ford Figo which was reported stolen in Sebokeng and was recovered next to Sebokeng hospital with three (03) suspects. The suspects were arrested immediately at the scene.
The suspects aged between 18 and 35 will be appearing soon in the local Magistrate Courts facing charges of contempt of court, rape, driving under the influence of liquor, theft of motor vehicle and hijacking.
