VANDERBIJLPARK. – On Sunday 19 May 2019 members of Sedibeng Flying Squad arrested one suspect for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Sedibeng Flying Squad members Warrant officer Billy Mokake , Sargent Simpiwe Hlabane and Constable Joseph Mokoena was busy with crime prevention patrols in Orange Farms area. While patrolling the area they saw a person looking very suspicious. The members decided to stop and search the person.
While searching the suspect the members found the fire arm tucked into a holster on his pants. The members enquired about the fire arm but the suspect could not produce a licence for the fire arm. The members also found fifteen (15) small bags containing crystal meth on the suspect. The Thirty Two (32) year old suspect was arrested and detained at Orange Farms police station for possession of unlicenced fire arm and ammunition and possession of drugs.
The suspect appeared briefly in court and is awaiting a bail hearing
