VEREENIGING. – An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday morning, 8 June, when he was knocked over by a bakkie in Duncanville, Vereeniging.

ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 11:43 to find a bakkie on the side of the road against a concrete fence. A young boy was found seated a few metres away. Medics assessed the boy and found that he had sustained several abrasions over his body. The patient was treated for his injuries and was thereafter transported to Kopanong Provincial Hospital for further care. The driver of the bakkie escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
