Wow! The eleventh N3TC Meals on Wheels Cycling Race took place at Sedaven, Heidelberg on the 20th September 2015. Once again the event was characterized by a Spirit of Goodwill and Charity,” said Mr Louis Harmse, Organizer of the event.
More than 1000 cyclists took part in this well-known race. Each year has it’s weather, wind or rain challenges yet the participation grows with each consecutive year.
Thank you to each cyclist who sacrificed their day to making a difference in some else’s life. The income from the Race was R100 000 and directly benefits an NPO “Meals on Wheels”. The organisation provides home cooked meals to marginalized communities and especially elderly people in the Greater Vaal Area.
The local community around Sedaven received food parcels and T-shirts to the value of R62, 000. This wonderful donation was made possible by the main sponsor NT3C.
All the cyclists received medals and bead rings made by Lewenslig, a home for disabled people, and prize money was also up for grabs.
It is important to N3TC to give back to the Community. We all want to contribute to the Greater Good, so we gladly sponsor the Meals on Wheels Race. ” said Victoria Greeff, spokesperson for N3TC. – (Reported by Diane Joy Wilder)
