Een sterf, vier beseer in botsing op die R59 – baba se toestand ook ernstig

Een persoon is dood en vier ander beseer in ‘n botsing tussen twee voertuie vanmiddag (Maandag 23 September 2019) op die R59 in Meyerton.
Volgens Ineke van Huyssteen, ‘n woordvoerder van ER24, het paramedici van dié en ander nooddienste kort na die botsing op die toneel opgedaag. Een pasiënt is met noodlottige beserings aangetref en op die toneel dood verklaar. ‘n Baba is ook ernstig beseer en is per mediese helikopter na ‘n hospitaal geneem.
Twee ander mense is ernstig beseer, terwyl ‘n ander een ligte beserings opgedoen het. ER24, sowel as die provinsiale nooddienste (EBW), het die beseerdes hospitaal toe vervoer vir verdere mediese sorg.
Die presiese omstandighede rondom die voorval is nog nie bekend nie maar die betrokke owerhede was op die toneel om dit verder te ondersoek.

Ineke van Huyssteen, a spokesperson for ER24 reports:

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 14H30, they found another medical service already in attendance. Upon further assessment, they found a patient who had sustained fatal injuries. The patient was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. A baby was also found with serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital by a medical helicopter.
Two others were found with serious injuries while another was found with minor injuries. ER24, as well as the provincial EMS, transported the injured to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics.
