Man kills two lovers and himself

SHARPEVILLE. – The Vaal fraternity is still reeling in shock after a love triangle resulted in three deaths last week. Mother of three, Puleng Tsosane
(37), and mother of two, Lesego Maseola (29), have added on to the number of women who have died at the hands of a person who was meant to
love and protect them. The two were shot and killed last week Thursday by their lover, prison warden, Ompie Moloi (47), after which he turned the gun onto himself and committed suicide. The incident played out at Moloi’s residence in Vuka, Sharpeville, in front of Moloi’s mother and two children.
It is believed that the incident was sparked by a quarrel which started on the phone the night before between the two women. Moloi had spent the night with Tsosane at his residence and his second lover, Maseola arrived early in the morning at the house, accompanied by her two sisters and
a cousin. A quarrel ensued and Moloi then resorted to shooting his two lovers and then himself. The families of the two women are still in disbelief.
Tsosane ’s sister, Mathapelo Malinga (30), says, “My sister and Ompie were in a relationship for about 4-5 years. We knew they had problems but we didn’t know that it would lead to this. As a family we are in shock and in pain, more so because my sister leaves three kids behind.”
Maseola’s family said that they were not aware that Ompie and Lesego had been in a relationship. Her younger sister, Madimo, said that she was in the car with Maseola when Moloi started to shoot. “I fell out of the car and hit the ground. My sister tried to flee but Ompie caught her and shot her
multiple times while holding her by the neck.”
Maseola’s mother, Ntsoaki Maseola, said that she was shocked by the events leading up to the death of her daughter. “As her mother, I am in pain. I am going to miss my daughter terribly.”
Police Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Simon Mofokatsane, has stated that the police are busy investigating this case.
