Fire hydrant points checked and marked for better safety
VANDERBIJPARK.- Ward 10 has started a Fire Hydrant Project, whereby over a period of time all hydrant points will be checked and clearly marked. This will ensure that when a fire breaks out, there will be a clear, functioning fire hydrant point which could be lifesaving. VANDERBIJPARK.- Ward 10 has started a Fire Hydrant Project, whereby over a period of time all hydrant points will be checked and clearly marked.
This will ensure that when a fire breaks out, there will be a clear, functioning fire hydrant point which could be lifesaving. The Ward 10 Committee received a letter of support from the Emfuleni Local Municipality to start with the project in CW and CE areas (CBD, CW2, CW3, CW5, CW6 around Totius Primary, CE1, CE4, CE5, CE6).
A map indicating the fire hydrant point, will be marked afterwards. Red paint will be used to show where the fire hydrant point is and a basic inventory will be noted as to the fire hydrant point in terms of possible future maintenance This community project will assist the
Fire Department immensely. All involvement is voluntary, and the project will take approximately a year to complete.
