Pipeline burst into flames

At 08:04 this morning Netcare 911 along with multiple emergency services responded to reports of a pipeline explosion in Verwoerdpark, Alberton. Reports from the scene indicated that a fuel pipeline had erupted in flames.

The circumstances leading up to the fuel line being breached are unknown however all relevant authorities responded. Police and safety officials cordoned off the area while the Ekuruleni Fire and Rescue services took care of the fire.

At this stage no injuries have been reported.
