Opening fake cases will land you in hot water
VEREENIGING. - Police Spokesperson of Vereeniging SAPS, Captain Fikile Funda, says that members of the community who open fake cases with the SAPS will be prosecuted. Members of the community who do so, are guilty of perjury (wilfully telling an untruth) and cases will be opened against them. It is a crime and waste of state resources, says Funda.

On the bright side, a total of 27 arrest for various crimes was made by Vereeniging Police last week. These crimes included possession and dealing in drugs, driving under the influence, shoplifting, possession of stolen property, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property and robbery. All the arrested suspects have appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrate Court.
- People doing business in Vereeniging are advised to not walk and talk on their phones in the city.
