Police Spokesperson Constable Josephine Rani, said the incident took place on 3 March on the R59 between Vaalpark and Sasolburg. The police received a call around 23:20 regarding the accident, receiving information of a person in a serious condition. At the time of the call Maryan Hugo was apparently still alive.
On their arrival, police found Hugo already declared dead by ER 24 and Netcare. No arrest has been made. The police appeal to members of the public or eyewitnesses with information to assist with the investigation.
