Sasolburg High: ‘Education is still key’

SASOLBURG. - "It is important to still focus on schoolwork during this lockdown period. Children should be encouraged to read and engage in educational material".

Thsese are the words of encouragement of Dr De Lange, Deputy Principal of Sasolburg High.

Sasolburg High School in an effort to not to fall behind has decided to move classes online using google classroom.

“Sometimes it feels hard to stay positive in these crazy times, when it seems like the world has effectively stopped spinning. I am sure many feel pretty uncertain about the future. But remember we all have the ability to step up and show how resilient and creative we can be. In difficult times can be filled with opportunity,” he stated in an on-line letter to pupils and their parents.

The school also recommend these tips on how to make the best of  the situation:

Stick to the government advice
Socialise online but avoid overloading on social media
Read a book
Make sure to exercise

The school has also of a way of means to entertain pupils, launched a fun online game called GUESS THE SHS STAFF MEMBER. Several photos of staff members as toddlers have already been shared on the school’s Facebook page.

“Don’t forget that everyone is in this situation together, and this will end. Although it might feel like a nightmare now, the world is still spinning. Stay safe,” De Lange concluded.
