Man arrested for breaking into a liquor store in Bophelong

BOPHELONG.- A 25-year -old suspect taking advantage of Covid- 19 lockdown has found himself behind bars charged with possession of stolen property following a break-in at a liquor store  in Bophelong over the Easter long weekend.

The business robbery took place at the Lefelong Liquor Store in Bophelong.

The Vanderbijlpark Police Task Team received information about a business robbery that took place at the Lefelong Liquor Store and they followed a tip which led them to the arrest of the suspect at Joko Tea squatter camp. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that some of the stolen liquor and computers were retrieved from the suspect’s shack.

Station Commander Brigadieŕ Nikiwe Hoaeane, applauded the task team for the great job conducted.

The suspect is expected to briefly appear at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate court on Tuesday (14 April 2020).
