Driver critical after car capsizes

A man, believed to be in his 20’s was left in a critical condition when his vehicle overturned several times on the Weilbach Road outside of Meyerton last Wednesday. Paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found a black BMW wedged onto a large tree stump. They found the critically injured driver still trapped in the vehicle. Fire-fighters from MidVaal Fire had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to free him from the wreckage. An ER24 Medical Helicopter was called to the scene to airlift him to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for further care.The cause of the collision is not yet known and investigations are ongoing.
