MEYERTON. – Winter is around the corner and during this season all of us need to be warm. Last year the Community Services Charity Drive was a great success and this year they want to help even more people in need.
“We handed out 500 blankets, 500 hot water bottles and 500 pairs of tom shoes to needy adults and children in our community,” reports Isabel van Loggerenberg, Community Services Representative of Natures Choice.
She is among those who invite companies to take part in this initiative by donating blankets and warm clothing, or to make a financial donation towards this effort. “If each company in Midvaal gives 20 blankets we will reach our target very fast.” The need is even greater this year and they aim to give out 1 000 blankets. The goods will be divided equally among all different race groups and handed out in Rothdene, Kookrus, Daleside, Riversdal, De Deur, Sicelo, and Koolfontein Plots, to people identified by social workers in each area.
There is more than enough storage space if people want to start donating. The goods will be ditributed between May 23 and 27.
“Let us really make a difference this year and warm not only hearts but bodies as well.”
