Five children injured and one dead after head-on taxi collision in Edenvale

This morning EMER-G-MED’s RV2, RV4, M02, A09 and A10 responded to reports of a serious taxi crash on the corner of 12th and 2nd in Edenvale – east of Johannesburg.

On arrival, paramedics found that a car and a taxi had collided head-on. Unfortunately, a 13-year-old girl was found to have sustained fatal injuries – and was declared dead on the scene.

Five other children between the ages of 12 and 16 were also injured. Paramedics stabilised the injured kids before they were transported to various nearby hospitals for further care.

EMPD were on-scene to investigate the exact events leading up to the collision.
