17 People transported to hospital after gas leak

MEYERTON. – 17 People were transported to hospital following an apparent gas leak at a business in Meyerton yesterday.

ER24 paramedics and Fire and Rescue attended to the incident and people had been evacuated from the building.

According to ER24 patients complained of various symptoms which included headaches, shortness of breathe, nausea, vomiting and dizziness.

A triage area was set up and patients were assessed and treated and they were found to be in minor to moderate conditions.

They were transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
