Gauteng: The Minister of Transport, Ms. Dipuo Peters will launch roadside testing equipment worth millions of rand at the Pass-Out Parade for Gauteng Traffic Officers on Tuesday, 14 June 2016.

Minister Peters will hand over Mobile Vehicle Testing Stations to provincial MECs responsible for Roads, Transport and Community Safety. This is a major boost for road traffic law enforcement in the Republic

The mobile testing equipment will enable road traffic law enforcement officers to conduct on the spot vehicle roadworthiness tests and inspections, the objective being to reduce collisions and fatalities on the roads.

The launch will take place at the Pass-Out Parade of about 200 traffic officers who have been in training at the Boekenhoutkloof Traffic College. The graduates, who will form part of the Gauteng Traffic Police, will receive diplomas in Traffic Management during the Pass-Out ceremony.
