Potchefstroom police apprehend 700 offenders
The police in the province nailed 700 offenders for various offences through day to day routine duties and special operations between June 13 - 20, 2016.

The police in the province nailed 700 offenders for various offences through day to day routine duties and special operations between June 13 – 20, 2016.
Out of this number, 108 were nabbed for contact crimes, 60 for property related crimes, 111 for drugs and liquor-related crimes including driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as well as drinking in public, 31 for possession of suspected stolen property and many other crimes. A total of 168 fines were issued for liquor and traffic related offences.
The police managed during the operations to confiscate liquor including concoctions, various drugs, two vehicles, four firearms and 23 ammunition as well as different electrical appliances.
Most of the suspects have already appeared in various Magistrates’ Courts within the province while others are expected to appear today.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane commended the police and other role players who worked tirelessly to put perpetrators behind bars. She said that the operations will continue to ensure safety.
