Wine not indulge a little, or a lot, in the Vaal River Meander Wine Route 2016 taking place every weekend from 16 July to 28 August. Showcasing over 200 wines, the festival, in it’s thirteenth year, has become a popular winter getaway for Gautengers. The Wine Show & Launch will be hosted at BON Hotel Riviera on Vaal on 8 and 9 July.
There are 17 venues on and around the river participating this year with some 200 cultivars to indulge in, each offering contrasting experiences, as do their wines, with the single common thread of each presenting great South African wines. There is something for everyone; a treat for wine connoisseurs and even those who know nothing about wine, and a pleasant, well-priced outing in beautiful surroundings.
Each venue invites you to enjoy the wines at only R20.00 per venue p/p for a taste of 8 delicious bouquets or R40 for a taste of the entire selection.
The Vaal River Meander kicks off with the Wine Show & Launch taking place at BON Hotel Riviera on Vaal this year on 8 July from 17h00 – 21h00 and 9 July 15h00 – 20h00. Tickets are R80 and include a tasting glass and goody bag. Corporate packages, wine tasting lunches on the river, spa treatments, historical tours to Sharpeville will be on offer.
