15 Homes gutted by fire at informal settlement, Pinetown.

15 Shacks were gutted by fire this morning after a fire broke out at an informal settlement on Claremont Road in Pinetown.

ER24 paramedics, along with Fire Services, arrived on the scene and found a number of shacks well alight. A number of bystanders had gathered along the sidewalk, attempting to extinguish the blaze with buckets of water.

Fire services began to battle the blaze while ER24 paramedics inspected the scene. Fortunately, it was discovered that no one sustained any injuries in this incident.

Fire services were able to extinguish the blaze in a matter of minutes.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
