At the recent South African Dance Schools Championships held at the Etienne Rousseau Theatre in Sasolburg, Pizazz Dance and Pilates Studio from Three Rivers won the award for best junior, teen, senior and adult studio in the Vaal Triangle for the second year running.
The first time this competition came to the Vaal in 2014, it was held at The Emerald Casino. That year no award was given for best studio, but Pizazz did walk away with a cash prize for the best senior showcase dance.
The competition moved to the Etienne Rousseau Theatre in 2015. The event had grown from the previous year and what a great way to showcase the amazing talent in the Vaal with over 1 000 dancers entering.
“Having won this award in 2015, it really was an unexpected surprise to hear our name called once again,” says Tamlyn McCabe, owner and head coach of Pizazz Dance and Pilates Studio. “We are so humbled and grateful. It is also such an honour to share this award with Elite Dance Academy. Congratulations to Colleen dos Santos and her studio. Runner-up winners for this award were Meghan Sim with Just Dance Studio, as well as Melissa Klonarides with Dance Revolution. We at Pizazz would like to offer our congratulations to them and all the studios that took part. The week proved that the standard of dance in the Vaal is up there with the best in the country.”
* Pizazz is situated at the Barnyard Theatre Complex in General Hertzog Road, Three Rivers.
