
| Netcare 911 reported that on Tuesday March 21 in the afternoon, Netcare 911paramedics responded to a light aircraft crash on the Oestermoed Farm in Hekpoort. Reports from the scene indicate that the training pilot went on a solo flight in a Cessna aircraft when according to him, he experienced engine problems.
The light aircraft crash-landed on the Oestermoed farm; fortunately, the Oestermoed protection officers were at hand and pulled the pilot from the wreckage before it burst into flames. This heroic action definitely saved the pilot, a man in his twenties from fatal injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene and after examining the patient, it was found that he sustained moderate injuries.
