Car and bakkie collide leaving six injured

VANDERBIJLPARK. - Six people were left injured early this morning when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided at the Rossini and Helena Lochner Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Six people were left injured early yesterday morning March 25, when a bakkie and light motor vehicle collided at the Rossini and Helena Lochner Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the light motor vehicle and bakkie in the middle of the intersection. Six people from the light motor vehicle were found seated on the sidewalk while the driver of the bakkie was seated in his vehicle.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that the six from the light motor vehicle had sustained minor injuries. The driver of the bakkie was found to have escaped injury.

The passengers from the light motor vehicle were found to be children aged between 4 and 15. The driver was found to be a 19-year-old man. The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Mediclinic Emfuleni and Johan Heyns Hospital for further treatment. The local authorities will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the collision.
