The Wheels at the Vaal Vintage & Steam Festival will this year provide a festival programme that will appeal to the whole family. The festival will be presented over 3 days from Friday afternoon September 4th to Sunday evening September 6th and will be held at the Sylviavale Heritage Museum, 14 Vaal Drive, Sylviavale, Vanderbijlpark.
Many classic cars will be on display, some quite rare and fascinating.
There’ll be a variety of vehicles, from sporty two-doors, to grand sedans, sought-after pick-ups and other utilitarian vehicles.
There is bound to be an opportunity to admire a motor vehicle owned long ago, or one that may be pointed out to the children as having belonged to you before they were around.
Under the large pine oaks, next to the tea garden, quaint and wonderful stationary engines will be put through their paces. A number of one-cylinder tractors will be fired-up. Steam engines will be puffing away to drive antique agricultural machinery, and a Fowler steam traction engine will be in action, busily blowing its steam whistle.
A wonderful part of the festival is the many stallholders who will be doing a brisk trade in a wide range of products, services and eats. There’ll be something among them for everyone. Live entertainment will be presented in the courtyard. The popular “Ou Toppies” will be putting on a show of music from the fifties and sixties, even some rockabilly music.

Other artists will be keeping the festive atmosphere going into the evening. Good craft beers may be savoured and enjoyed to a happy beat.
