Two people killed in collision
Two people were fatally injured when two vehicles collided on Swartkoppies and Potgieter Road in Alberton this morning (17 November 2018)
Ineke van Huyssteen, a spokesperson for ER24, reports that paramedics arrived at the scene in Alberton, close to the Vaal Triangle, to find one vehicle completely burned out and another vehicle sitting off the roadway.
Another medical service was attending to one of the injured. Upon further assessment, it was found that the patient was in a critical condition. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, he succumbed to his multiple injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The remains of a person was also found inside the vehicle that had burned out.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations. The identities of the deceased were not released to the media yet.
