Two shot dead in R57 armed robbery

Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare 911 reported that at 17:30 on Sunday afternoon, 3 March, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a tuck shop on the R57 next to a filling station between Sasolburg and Heilbron.
Reports from the scene indicate two adult males had sustained gunshot wounds in an alleged robbery. Both males were assessed on scene by an Advanced life support paramedic and found to have no signs of life and declared deceased on the scene. Circumstances leading up to the shooting is at this stage unknown however there was a very strong SAPS presence on the scene who will be investigating.
