Muscles galore
VANDERBIJLPARK. - KwaZulu-Natal led the charge at this year’s IFBB South African Bodybuilding Championship held at the Emerald Resort and Casino.
Claiming all three the overall awards the Natalians stamped their authority. Bayanda Cele (men up to 95kg) not only won his division but also won the judges over with his incredible physique to be crowned as the overall winner. Angelique Roux’s stunning physique was rewarded with the overall fitness bikini title and Karen de Beer won the Overall Body Fitness division. Some of the local athletes who performed well is Anneke Erasmus Mulder, who finshed second in the Ladies Body Fitness over 168cm.
Sipho Dlamini finished second in the men welterweight u/75kg division. In the competitive men’s light heavyweight u/90kg Andre Pieterse and Wesley Saunders
from Sedibeng finished third and fourth respectively. In die heavyweight divisions the competition was fierce but Sedibeng’s Clint Horsley managed a well-deserved third
place in the men’s up to 95kg division. In die men’s division up to 100kg Michael Sibanda claimed third place on the podium. In the mixed couples division Junelle
Dobbins and Darren Banfield from Sedibeng finished in second place. All in all, Sedibeng can be extremely proud of the championship they strung together.
