ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 13:25 along with Sasolburg Fire Department, Free State Provincial EMS and another private service. The man was found lying on the tarmac, having suffered multiple critical injuries. He was treated using Advanced Life Support interventions before being flown by private medical helicopter to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital for further care. The driver of the Audi was in shock but otherwise uninjured.
The South African Police Services were also on scene for further investigations.
