VANDERBIJLPARK. – So it’s already happening. Decorative stones laid by municipalities at street intersections and corners are being used as projectiles with which to pelt passing motorists.

This happened most recently when a section of the Golden Highway was closed down over the May Day weekend.

The use of these stones as projectiles was jokingly predicted by a motorist years ago. More recently, another motorist said, “I predicted years ago that people were being given weapons.” The stones were laid as a decorative alternative to expensive maintenance so that motorists had more visibility at crossings, corners and turns.
