Mr & Miss Vaal Pageant 2017 is here!
“Models Unlimited is flooded with calls about 2017’s Mr & Miss Vaal Pageant. Due to the high volume of entries received in 2016, the entrants this year need to enter with a photo from Mardo Studios only,” says Renita Lombard, organiser of this prestigious annual pageant.
Attention all the beautiful kids, young ladies and gents of the Vaal Triangle, are your entries ready for this year’s Mr & Miss Vaal Pageant?
The entry fee is R50. An additional R50 is payable to Mardo for two photos. Mardo will email the head-and-shoulder, and full length photo to the organisers. Paper judging (photo and entry form) will be done during the first round. Semi-finalists will be chosen and will be notified telephonically. Each semi-finalist will be interviewed at Models Unlimited’s studio by a panel of judges to select the top scorers. These top scorers will be announced as the 2017 pageant finalists. The 65 finalists will receive their entry photos taken by Mardo Photos on their photo disk of the pageant after the gala event with their 2018 calenders.
Vaalweekblad will announce these lucky finalists in one of the last July editions. The 65 finalists will take part in fashion shows in the Vaal Triangle and the community can meet them on these days.
The finalists will also be involved with a variety of charities, conduct interviews on 90.6fm and will appear at numerous events throughout the Vaal Triangle before the winners are crowned on September 29 and 30 during a glamorous gala event at the Ettienne Rousseau Theatre.
The 5 categories for 2017 are:
Miss Petite Vaal: ages 7-11 years of age
Mr & Miss Teen Vaal: ages 13-17 years of age Miss Vaal: ages 18-25 years &
Mr Vaal 2017: ages 18-29 years of age
