Electricity supply causes chaos in Vanderbijlpark

VANDERBIJLPARK.- The community of CW 4, Vanderbijlpark, went berserk barricading all the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) main office entrances on Thursday morning.

The residents said they had had enough as they have been without electricity for three consecutive days. The residents demanded to be addressed by ELM Executive Mayor Jacob Khawe but they were told that he was not available as he was in a council sitting.

The current electricity dilemma comes after ELM reported that approximately 28 meters of electricity cable had been stolen by cable thieves. The situation remains tense as ELM tries to fix the electricity supply.
